NI 9219 Reads Zero Volts at 60 HzPrimary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>LabVIEW Professional Development SystemPrimary Software Version: 1.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A Hardware: CompactDAQ>>Analog Input Modules>>NI 9219
Problem: I am trying to read a 60 Hz signal from my NI 9219 but it is only reading zero volts. Why is this happening? Solution: The NI 9219 defaults to the high resolution sampling mode. This sampling mode has a normal mode rejection ratio (NMRR) of 65 dB at 60 Hz. As a result, any 60 Hz signal will get dramatically reduced. In addition to this, the high resolution sampling mode only supports a maximum sampling rate of 2 S/s which is not sufficient to reproduce the signal. Because the NI 9219 has a maximum sampling rate of only 100 S/s in its high speed sampling mode, it is not recommended to use this module to measure a 60 Hz signal in the first place. However, for instructions on changing the sampling mode of the module so that it no longer implements 60 Hz rejection refer to KnowledgeBase 493DGV0E: How to Set the Sampling Rate of the NI-9217/9219.
