FieldPoint Timestamp Limited to 10ms Accuracy with Respect to my Time server

Hardware: FieldPoint

Problem:
Why do my FP Read VIs in my deployed Real-Time application return timestamps that are not synchronized with my time server?

Solution:
If a time server is used, the FieldPoint timestamp will update at an accuracy within 10 ms of the time server.  In order to disable the time server:
  1. Open Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX)
  2. Expand the Remote Systems tree in the Configuration pane
  3. Select your FieldPoint controller from the list of remote systems
  4. Select the Network Settings tab at the bottom of the center pane
  5. In the Additional Configuration section enter 0.0.0.0 as the Time Server IP address

  6. Click Apply at the top center
  7. Click OK to reboot your FieldPoint controller
Alternatively, the time server can be disabled by editing the time_server token in the ni-rt.ini file which resides on the FieldPoint controller. The token should read Time_Server=0.0.0.0 in order to disable the time server.
