How Do I Save My VXI/VME Configuration to Move It to Another Computer?

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-VXI/VISA
Primary Software Version: 3.2
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A
Hardware: VXI/VME/MXI>>VXI Controllers, VXI/VME/MXI>>MXI Interfaces

Problem: I am using a computer with MXI-2 controller with VXI chassis with several VXI and VME devices. I am changing my main computer so I need to move my PCI-MXI-2 and all my driver software. However, how do I move my VXI/VME configuration information as well?

Solution: You will need to move several files:

  1. C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MAX\Config.mxs
This file contains information such as VME Profiles, Chassis Configurations, and DAQ Scale Information
  2. C:\VXIpnp\WinNT\NIvisa\visaconf.ini
This file contains information such as Visa Aliases and Visa Resource default configurations
  3. C:\Program Files\National Instruments\VXI\tbl\*
These files contain the resources requirements for each device in the system to be used by Resman.exe
