Why Does My VI Dynamically Called from a Remote Front Panel Appear Only on the Server Computer?
Primary Software Version: 7.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A
I can successfully view and control a VI remotely. However, the remote VI dynamically loads another VI, but the front panel of the dynamic VI appears only on the server computer and not on the client computer. How can I display the front panel of the dynamically loaded VI on the client computer?
Only the controller can remotely view the front panel of a VI dynamically opened and run using the VI Server or the front panel of a subVI configured to display the front panel when called. Clients not controlling the VI cannot view the front panel.
To configure the dynamic VI or subVI to display front panel when called, open the VI and click File»VI Properties and select Window Appearance from the top pull-down menu. Click on the Customize... button and place a checkmark in the Show Front Panel When Called checkbox. Click OK to finish.
You can also right-click a subVI on the Block Diagram and select SubVI Node Setup from the shortcut menu and place a checkmark in the Show Front Panel when called checkbox. When you view the main VI remotely, the front panel of the dynamic VI should display normally on the client computer.
