How do I Set the TCR (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance, or alpha) for (c)FP-RTD-122's Channels?

Hardware: FieldPoint>>Analog I/O Modules>>FP-RTD-122, Compact FieldPoint>>Analog I/O Modules>>cFP-RTD-122

Problem: I am trying to set the correct TCR (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance, or alpha) for my RTD in the (c)FP-RTD-122. Where can I set this value? Is it set in hardware or software?

Solution: The TCR value for the (c)FP-RTD-122's channels are set in software using Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). Follow these steps to set the channel's TCR values:

  1. Navigate to your FieldPoint system. You can do this for an ethernet controller by expanding "Remote Systems" or for a serial controller by expanding "My System" then "Devices and Interfaces"

  2. Expand your Fieldpoint system to show your Fieldpoint bank, then expand the bank to show your Fieldpoint modules

  3. Highlight the (c)FP-RTD-122 module

  4. Select the Channel Configuration tab at the bottom of the MAX window

  5. Select which channels' values you want to set by checking their respective checkboxes

  6. Under the Channel Attributes category, you can set the TCR value

  7. Save the .iak file
