Ring Acquisition with an IEEE-1394 Camera

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-IMAQ for IEEE-1394
Primary Software Version: 2.0.2
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
I'd like to configure a Ring acquisition for my IEEE-1394 camera using either the legacy IMAQ for IEEE-1394 cameras driver or IMAQdx, but I can't seem to find a shipping example for it. Where can I get one?

Solution:
The Low Level Grab.VI shipping example found under Example Finder » Hardware Input and Output » IMAQ1394 (or IMAQdx) » Low-Level is essentially a ring type acquisition with three buffers. The grab example uses a three buffer ring by default to acquire images, but only extract the next available buffer to the image display on the front panel. To account for a larger size ring, simply adjust the Number of Buffers input on the IMAQ1394 (or IMAQdx) Configure Acquisition.vi.

Note: The memory allocation for the buffers are automatically created when the IMAQ1394 (or IMAQdx) Start Acquisition.vi is executed. You do not have to allocate processing buffers using the IMAQ Create.vi to hold the images.
