VXI Instrument Driver cannot find Open VXI Instrument.vi and VXI Instrument Global.vi Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-VXI/VISAPrimary Software Version: 3.3 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: When you try to open a VI which uses a VXI driver, you may receive file dialogs indicating the following error, Open VXI Instrument.vi and VXI Instrument Global.vi cannot be found. You may also see errors related to VXI Read Register.vi, VXI Write Register.vi, and Close VXI Instrument.vi.Solution: All VXI Instrument Drivers written prior to LabVIEW 3.1 use these common VIs. They are located in a file called _vxitls.llb, which is contained within the _vxitls.zip file attached below. Place this file in your National Instruments\LabVIEW x.x\vi.lib directory (recommended) or in another directory of your choice. If you place it in another directory, you will need to update the VI Search Path option within your LabVIEW preferences.
If you receive more dialogs indicating missing subVIs or dependencies even after adding this LLB file to your directory, you may also need to add the 4 LLB files from the attached file vxistubs.zip. Place these in the same directory as _vxitls.llb.You are able to download these files the from the National Instruments FTP website or they are attached to this KnowledgeBase.
