Why Does It Say that My Mobile Module Has No License Available When I Launch LabVIEW?Primary Software: LabVIEW Modules>>PDA ModulePrimary Software Version: 8.5.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>LabVIEW Base Package, LabVIEW Development Systems>>LabVIEW Full Development System, LabVIEW Development Systems>>LabVIEW Professional Development System
Problem: When I open LabVIEW there is a dialog box that tells me that my Mobile Module has no license available. When I look at the License Manager, under the Modules section, it says "Activated for this computer". Furthermore, if I right-click on the Mobile Module and select Activate... the module will activate successfully yet when I launch LabVIEW again I still see the same dialog box. Solution: The reason why the dialog box, saying that there is no license available for the Mobile Module, comes up is because the Local License Server is not running. In order to Start the local license server go to the NI License Manager (Start » Programs » National Instruments » NI License Manager) and click on the Start License Server button at the top. This will start the server which will prevent the dialog box from showing up every time you Launch LabVIEW. Additionally, you can set the Local License Server to start automatically every time the computer starts by going to Options » Preferences and checking Start Local License Server on System Start. Note: It is possible that you will still see the dialog box come up even though the Local License Server is started. The reson for this happening is that a firewall is blocking the port on which the server operates. In order to fix this problem, disable the firewalls running on your computer or create exceptions for the Local License Server.
