SignalExpress: Display All Data History in Data View While Acquiring Continuously

Primary Software: LabVIEW SignalExpress>>Development System
Primary Software Version: 3.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
I am using SignalExpress and want to see all data points over time in the same graph display. If the Acquisition Mode is One Sample (On Demand), I can use a chart to see the data history. However, if the Acquisiton Mode is N Samples or Continuous, I can only use a graph, which does not allow me to see the history. How can I see the history while acquiring data continuously?

Solution:
To see the entire history of the data, you will need to create a log and display the entire log in Data View.

1. Create a log while acquiring the data by pressing Record.

2. Drag the log file into the Data View. Logs are listed in the bottom-left side of the screen and can be dragged from this location.

3. Right-click the Data View and select Visible Items » Preview. This will allow you to see the
Preview Graph below the Data View.

4. Right-click the preview graph and select Track » Entire Log. This will allow you to see the entire plot history in the Data View.

Note: SignalExpress Full is required because SignalExpress Limited Edition (LE) does not have the capability to do data logging, which is required for viewing the complete history of the acquisition
  • By default, LabVIEW SignalExpress LE displays only the features available in the Limited Edition. The settings can be configured so that the steps available in the Full Edition are also displayed. Select Tools » Options to display the Options dialog box. On the General page, select Yes for the Show unlicensed steps option
