Connecting a Digital Signal to the SC-2345

Hardware: SCC>>Carriers>>SC-2345, SCC>>Modules>>SCC-DI01, SCC>>Modules>>SCC-DO01, SCC>>Modules>>SCC-FT01

Problem: What are the steps to connect a digital signal to the SC-2345?

Solution: There are three ways to connect digital signals to the SC-2345:

1. Connect signal directly to terminal block

Hardware: Configure the SC-2345 according to the procedure on page 8 of the SCC Quick Start Guide, the SC-2345 routes the output signal from digital line P0.(X) on the E Series DAQ device.  Connect digital signals to the terminal block according to the following diagram:

Software: Configure SC-2345 in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) as explained on page 22 of the SCC Quick Start Guide.

2. Connect signal to isolated digital input or output module (SCC-DI01 or SCC-DO01):

Hardware: Configure the SC-2345 according to the procedure on page 8 of the SCC Quick Start Guide, the SC-2345 routes the output signal from digital line P0.(X) on the E Series DAQ device.  Plug the SCC-DO01 into any digital input/output (P0.X) socket J(X+9), where X is 0 to 7, on the SC-2345.
Software: Configure SC-2345 in MAX as explained on page 22 of the SCC Quick Start Guide.

3. Connect signal to SCC-FT01 for custom signal conditioning:

Hardware: Configure the SC-2345 according to the procedure on page 8 of the SCC Quick Start Guide, the SC-2345 routes the output signal from digital line P0.(X) on the E Series DAQ device.  Plug the SCC-FT01 into any digital input/output (P0.X) socket J(X+9), where X is 0 to 7, on the SC-2345, then:
a. Remove resistors: Please see attachment RemoveR.GIF
b. Wire DIO(X) and DGND: Please see attachment DigitalConnection.GIF
Software: Do not configure the SCC-FT01 module in MAX.
