Why does my cRIO-901x Controller Spontaneously Boot into Safe Mode when using NI-RIO 2.1.1?

Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Controllers

Problem:
Occasionally my cRIO-901x controller will spontaneously Boot into Safe Mode when using NI-RIO 2.1.1.

Solution:
National Instruments R&D identified an issue with NI-RIO 2.1.1 and LabVIEW Real-Time 8.2.1 that can cause cRIO-901x controllers to infrequently boot into safe mode. If you are using a cRIO-901x controller with LabVIEW Real-Time 8.20 or 8.2.1, National Instruments recommends upgrading to NI-RIO 2.1.3 or later to ensure proper operation of your controller.

This issue occurs due to a race condition in the VxWorks module loader. It was discovered that part of the VxWorks module loader was not thread-safe, and when multiple modules are loaded from different threads during boot up, an intermittent crash may occur.
