Why Is My PCI-7344 Not Recognized After I Install Motion Assistant 1.2?

Primary Software: Motion Assistant
Primary Software Version: 1.2
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: I have NI-Motion 6.1.5 installed (recently installed latest update) and a PCI-7344. Everything was working fine, then I installed Motion Assistant 1.2. The device now doesn't show up in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) and it shows up as an 'Unknown Device' in Windows Device Manager. What happened and what can I do?

Solution: When you install Motion Assistant, it also installs NI-Motion 6.1.4, even if you have the latest version of NI-Motion installed. When this happens, your board will not be recognized.

To fix this issue you can either:
  • Go to Add/Remove Programs, select National Instruments Software and select NI-Motion 6.1.4. Then click on Repair and reboot.
  • Re-install the NI-Motion 6.1.5 update and then reboot.

Either of these solutions should get you up and running.
