How Do I Interface The Digital Port Of My Motion Board With Higher Voltages?Hardware: Motion Control>>Controllers>>PCI-7334
Problem: I have a Flexmotion board (NI 733x, NI 734x) and I would like to use the digital port to control higher voltages. The digital IO lines support only TTL level signals (0-5V) directly. What options do I have to interface this port to higher voltage devices? Solution: National Instruments offers a solid state relay solution that allows you to control higher voltage signals with the motion controller's DIO port. Instead of a terminal block such as the SCB-68, you will need to use an SSR Backplane. The SSR Backplane accepts relay modules that will switch up to 240 VAC, while offering 8, 16, or 24 channel configurations. You will need the SHC68-C68-S motion cable and a cable adapter to connect the SSR backplane to the motion controller. Please note that the backplane requires a voltage supply which is indicated in the SSR documentation. The user manuals linked below also describe in detail how to access each relay.
