Why Does My Database Seem Larger After I Upgraded To Lookout 6? Primary Software: LookoutPrimary Software Version: 6.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: Databases created with Lookout 6 are larger than those created with earlier versions of Lookout Solution: The initial release of Lookout 6 came pre-configured to log timestamps at full 64-bit precision in the Citadel 5 database. This resolution is not necessary since typical PC clocks are only accurate to several milliseconds. National Instruments has released a software update that changes the pre-configured time resolution to 0.001 seconds. This parameter is not user configurable. Lookout 6 sets the default logging data resolution to 64-bit when importing processes created in earlier versions of Lookout. Though the default logging resolution is preconfigured to use full resolution, Lookout 6 allows you to specify the data resolution on a per trace basis. This can be accomplished by choosing "Edit datamember configuration" from the Object Explorer and setting the logging resolution to something other than "0". These two issues have been addressed in the Lookout 6 fixes and updates that can be found at ni.com/downloads Related Links: Attachments:
