Problem: I have a PXI-8106, and have selected the options in the BIOS boot into RT. It appears to enter safe mode, but I cannot seem to find it from my host machine. I’ve verified that I’m on the same subnet and other networking settings are correct. What am I doing wrong? Solution: In order to install LabVIEW Real-Time onto a PXI Controller preloaded with Microsoft Windows, you need to purchase the LabVIEW Real-Time Deployment License for NI PXI Controllers. Then, make sure you have a LabVIEW or CVI Real-Time Module version that will support the PXI-8106RT. LabVIEW Real-Time 8.2.1 and CVI Real-Time 8.1 or higher support the PXI Embedded Controller 8106. Using the PXI-8106 with previous version of LabVIEW/CVI Real-Time could result in connection problems to the RT target. Note: If you do not have LabVIEW Real-Time 8.2.1 or CVI Real-Time 8.1, please contact National Instruments customer service in your country.
