Configuring the PXI-8106 to Operate as a Real-Time ControllerHardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Controllers
Problem: I have a PXI-8106 and have selected the options in the BIOS boot into the Real-Time O/S. It appears to enter safe mode, but I cannot seem to find it from my host machine. I’ve verified that I’m on the same subnet and other networking settings are correct. What am I doing wrong? Solution: In order to install LabVIEW Real-Time onto a PXI Controller preloaded with Microsoft Windows, you need to purchase the LabVIEW Real-Time Deployment License for NI PXI Controllers. Then, make sure you have a LabVIEW or CVI Real-Time Module version that will support the PXI-8106RT. The PXI-8106RT is natively supported by LabVIEW Real-Time 8.5, and with the proper Target Software CD, LabVIEW Real-Time 8.2 and CVI Real-Time 8.1 or higher will support the PXI Embedded Controller 8106. Using the PXI-8106 with previous version of LabVIEW/CVI Real-Time could result in connection problems to the real-time target. Note: If you do not have LabVIEW Real-Time 8.2 or CVI Real-Time 8.1, please contact National Instruments customer service in your country.
