IVI Configuration Server ErrorPrimary Software: Instrument Drivers/IVI>>IVI Compliance PackagePrimary Software Version: 3.3 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: When I select the IVI Drivers category in MAX, the Information tab displays the error message The provider was unable to instantiate the IVI Configuration Server, like the image seen below.
I am also not able to create any new IVI Driver Sessions or Logical Names because the options are grayed out. How can I get rid of this error? Solution: The IVI Shared Components installs the IVI Configuration Server, which has to be registered in the system. If you have received this error, then most likely the IVI Configuration Server has somehow become un-registered from your system. To test whether or not the IVI Shared Components are registered correctly on your system, run the attached COMServerTest.exe. If IVI Shared Components are not registered on your system, then you can try uninstalling them first. Then re-install them from the Drivers and Updates: IVI Compliance Package. Alternatively, you can re-install the IVI Shared Components from a stand-alone installer found on the IVI Foundation Shared Components web page. Note: The IVI Shared Components is its own installed software, and will not show up under National Instruments Software. Uninstalling NI Software will not resolve the error.
