Shared Variable and/or PNG Support Is Not Active After Rebooting the TPC-2006

Problem:
I installed shared variable and PNG support for my TPC-2006 touch panel and both work. After rebooting, these features stop working and appear to have been uninstalled, and I have to reinstall support every time I reboot to get them working again. How can I force the TPC-2006 to keep shared variable and/or PNG support installed?

Solution:
The TPC-2006 uses a default image when it reboots, so any support that was installed will be overwritten. This issue only happens when installing the shared variable and PNG support from the LabVIEW PDA module, and not the Touch Panel Module (8.2 or later). There are two ways to force the TPC to keep this support installed:

  1. Install shared variable or PNG support from the Touch Panel Module instead of the LabVIEW PDA module.
  2. Copy the file National Instruments LabVIEW 8.2 Shared Variables Support.CAB or National Instruments LabVIEW 8.2 PNG Support.CAB located at labview\PDA\Utilities\Variables or labview\PDA\Utilities\Variables\LVPNG to  the \harddisk\Wince\config directory of the TPC-2006. Leave the .CAB file in the directory of the TPC, and don't run it.

Note: If the folder \harddisk\Wince\config does not exist, create it.
