Problem: What type of filters are on the NI 435x? Solution: A 40 Hz analog filter is on each channel and acts as an anti-alias filter, since the Nyquist frequency is 30 Hz. Each of these filters is before the channel MUX and ADC. The NI 435x also includes digital filters of 10, 50, and 60 Hz. These filters are designed to reject noise at these frequencies and follow the behavior shown in the figure below.
The 10Hz notch filter setting will optimize accuracy and minimize noise level, but also slows your reading rate considerably. The 10 Hz filter is particularly ideal to reject any AC noise effects. All digital filters are meant to reject any powerline frequency noise, as shown in the table below.
