Problem: If you install VISA before you install NI-DAQmx, the DAQ Assistant might hang when you try to use it. The problems occurs if you do the following:
Note: If you install VISA (which installs support for the Instrument I/O Assistant), and NI-DAQmx (which installs the DAQ Assistant) at the same time, you will not see this error. This issue is most likely to be seen if you installed the August 2003 version of the Evaluation Driver CD. The Evaluation Driver CD is a special, smaller version of the full Driver CD (which spanned 2 CDs in the August version) that is included with the localized versions of National Instruments Evaluation software packages. These packages include:
Solution: If you are experiencing the problem above, delete the mxMax.mxc file from the data directory.Also, as noted above, you can avoid the issue entirely by installing VISA and DAQ at the same time. Related Links: Attachments:
