Problem:
Does LabWindows/CVI support Sun Solaris operating systems?

Solution:
LabWindows/CVI 5.0.1 and earlier support Sun Solaris operating systems 2.4 through 2.8. Version 2.8 is also referred to as Solaris 8. See the Solaris Wikipedia page for information on Sun Solaris versioning.

Note LabWindows/CVI 5.0.1 doesn't support any version higher than Solaris 8. In particular, support for 32-bit Solaris static-system libraries and statically linked utilities is no longer provided in Solaris 10. Of particular note, support for the static C library (/usr/lib/libc.a) is no longer provided in Solaris 10. These libraries are core libraries that LabWindows/CVI links against and thus "aborted load of library" errors will occur when launching LabWindows/CVI. This information is listed in the End-of-Software Support Statements (Solaris 10 Release Notes) document. Refer to the Solaris Static System Libraries sub-section. This information is also listed on page 178 of the Solaris 10 release notes.
