Why Won't My Allied Vision Technology Camera Work With National Instruments Software?Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-IMAQdxPrimary Software Version: 2.0.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I installed the Allied Vision Technology (AVT) firewire drivers on my computer, and now my AVT firewire camera doesn't show up in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX). Solution: The AVT firewire drivers completely replace the Windows firewire drivers. Thus, when IMAQdx makes driver calls to the Windows firewire driver, it doesn't work and the camera isn't recognized. The AVT cameras can be used with the Windows drivers, so installing the AVT drivers is not necessary to make the camera work. If you have installed the AVT firewire drivers, uninstall them. Once uninstalled, it may be required to reinstall the IMAQdx drivers. To do so, navigate to Add/Remove Programs and find the National Instruments Software entry. Click Change/Remove. Find and highlight NI-IMAQdx and select Remove. Download and reinstall the IMAQdx drivers that are included in the Vision Acquisition Software download. Reboot the computer. Once installed and reactivated, the camera should show up in MAX under IMAQdx devices. Related Links: Windows IEEE 1394 Drivers NI Vision Acquisition Support Attachments:
