Why Won't My Allied Vision Technology Camera Work With National Instruments Software?

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-IMAQ for IEEE-1394
Primary Software Version: 2.0.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: I installed the Allied Vision Technology (AVT) firewire drivers on my computer, and now my AVT firewire camera doesn't show up in MAX.

Solution: The AVT firewire drivers completely replace with Windows firewire drivers.  Thus when IMAQdx makes driver calls to the Windows firewire driver, it doesn't work, and the camera isn't recognized.  The AVT cameras can be used with the Windows drivers, so installing the AVT drivers is not necessary to make the camera work.

If you have installed the AVT firewire drivers, uninstall them and get the Windows firewire drivers reinstalled, and the camera should show up again in your device manager and MAX.
