Why Does Measurement & Automation Explorer Display Simplified Chinese Fonts on Microsoft Windows for Traditional Chinese?

Problem:
Why does Measurement & Automation Explorer display Simplified Chinese fonts on Microsoft Windows for Traditional Chinese?

Solution:
This issue appeared in MAX 4.4.0.  You can fix the font issue by installing NI-DAQmx 8.7.1 or completing the following steps to apply a patch to MAX 4.4.0.

1. Log in as Administrator or as a user with Administrator privileges.
2. Close all National Instruments applications.
3. Download the patch from:
• ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/max/4.4.0f2/maxupdate440f2.exe or
• ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/max/4.4.0f2/maxupdate440f2_silent.exe
4. Run the self-extracting executable file to apply the patch.
5. Reboot the machine to complete the application of the patch.
6. Launch MAX and verify that it displays English fonts instead of Simplified Chinese on Traditional Chinese computers. You will be able to confirm that the patch upgraded the version of MAX to 4.4.0f2 by selecing Help->About in the menu.

Deployment Note:
If you plan on creating an installer to deploy software to another system, you must include MAX 4.4.1, which is included in the NI-DAQmx 8.7.1 installer.
