Why Does the PXI-5690 Show Up in MAX Under Both NI-DAQmx Devices and Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) Devices? Hardware: Modular Instruments>>RF Measurement Devices>>PXI-5690
Problem: Why does the PXI-5690 show up as an entry in MAX under both 'NI-DAQmx Devices' and 'Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) Devices'? Solution: The PXI-5690 was originally going to be supported under Traditional NI-DAQ and as such, an entry was made into the NI-DAQ (legacy) driver for the PXI-5690 so it would show up in MAX. The PXI-5690, however, is supported under the newer NI-DAQmx driver architecture and therefore shows up in that section as well. This was a design change that could not be reflected in the Traditional NI-DAQ driver. The important point here is that the PXI-5690 is a NI-DAQmx device and should be interfaced with under the NI-DAQmx Devices section of MAX. Also, this only occurs if you have Traditional NI-DAQ and NI-DAQmx installed, so if Traditional NI-DAQ is uninstalled, the entry under Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) Devices will go away. Do not uninstall Traditional NI-DAQ if you are using other devices dependent on it. Related Links: Attachments:
