Configuring the P7000 Series Stepper Drives for the Correct Motor Hardware: Motion Control>>Power Drives>>P70530-SDN, Motion Control>>Power Drives>>P70360-SDN
Problem: I have a P7000 Series Stepper Drive, and need to configure the drive for my specific motor. The sticker on the drive lists the appropriate switch settings to use for various motors, but mine is not listed. How can I configure the drive with the appropriate settings? Solution: To configure the P7000 Series Drives, there are two options: using the switches on the side of the drive, or using the P7000 Software Tools to send the parameters serially. If you are using an NI supplied stepper motor, and the motor is not listed on the sticker, refer to the Getting Started manual for the P7000 Drives linked below for the table that lists the appropriate switch settings. For all NI supplied motors, as well as third party motors, you can use the P7000 Software Tools to configure the drive. If your motor is not listed in the software, you will have to create your own motor file. As of version 2.11 of the P7000 Tools, all NI supplied motors should be already configured in the P7000 Tools.
