Sudden Loss of Communication with Instruments in Measure

Primary Software: Other NI Software>>Measure
Primary Software Version: 2.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: I'm using Measure for Excel to acquire data from my GPIB or Serial instrument. It will work fine, then all of a sudden my communication will be lost. What can I do?

Solution: This is usually a problem with the instrument. Reset your instrument and restart your application...it should work. If not, then reboot the computer and start your experiment once more. Check with the manufacturer of your instrument to see if there are any known problems regarding communication losses. Remember that Measure is a simple interface to the hardware and drivers, and that you will most likely experience the same problem in another programming environment. For GPIB communication, try using the Interactive Control (IBIC) in the Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) to communicate to your instrument and see if you run into the same problems. If so, then it is definitely a problem with the instrument or its configuration.
