Easily changing DASYLab's target Filename at RuntimePrimary Software: Other NI Software>>DASYLabPrimary Software Version: 8.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: My worksheet saves the measured data in a file with a fixed name. I have to change the filename before I start a new experiment inside the module. Is it possible to use a global string to dynamically set the filename more easily? Solution: Change the setting of the file name from "Fix" to "Combi" in the Write Data module properties. Delete the filename in the edit line. Right-mouse click to open the context menu and select the global string from the list. The Write Data module will now use the content of the global string for the filename. To easily define the text string you can use the "Type in at Start of Experiment" option in the Define Global Strings dialog. You can combine strings and variables with fixed text to create the filename. For example, you could use Filter-Test-${DAY}-${Hour}.DDF as a filename. Additionally, you can use a global string as a folder name in the file path. If you use this system you should also set the "Create Directory if Necessary" option in the Options menu, Global Setup dialog. Otherwise DASYLab will generate an error message and stop acquisition if the directory does not exist. Related Links: Attachments:
