FieldPoint IO Point Does Not Work in an Executable

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-FieldPoint
Primary Software Version: 5.0.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: LabVIEW Run-Time Engine

Problem:
When I use a FieldPoint IO Point constant in an executable, I receive a dialog box warning, Cannot load the Browse dialog. How do I use the FieldPoint IO Point in an executable?

Solution:
This is a known issue and was reported to Research and Development as Corrective Action Request #41273.  The issue was fixed in the NI-FieldPoint driver 6.0.2.  See the Related Links section of this article for the latest version of NI-FieldPoint driver.

Here is a workaround to enable use of the FieldPoint IO Point in an executable:
  1. Build your executable as usual, including the FieldPoint IO Point command. Note where your executable (.EXE file) is saved.
  2. Make a copy of the file event_ctrls.llb. This file is found in labview\vi.lib, where labview is the installation directory for your version of LabVIEW.
  3. Make a copy of the file FPLVMgr.dll. This file is found in this folder: labview\vi.lib\FieldPoint\SubVIs.
  4. Create a folder, named vi.lib, in the same folder as the .EXE file you have created.
  5. Place the copies of event_ctrls.llb and FPLVMgr.dll into this new vi.lib folder.
