Why Do I Receive DAQmx Error -200718 When I Externally Calibrate the NI 446x with DAQmx 8.7.1?

Problem:

I am using NI-DAQmx 8.7 or 8.7.1. When I try to self-calibrate my NI 446x device from MAX, it calibrates successfully. When I try to externally calibrate the board manually or with Calibration Executive, I receive Error -200718 occurred at DAQmx Adjust DSA AI Calibration.vi.

Solution:

An issue was identified in NI-DAQmx 8.7 and NI-DAQmx 8.7.1 that causes these errors when trying to externally calibrate the device. The attached zip files (see below) include a patch for DAQmx that will address the issue. The patch is compatible with both affected versions of DAQmx. The issue is isolated to the NI 446x device and will be fixed in DAQmx 8.8 or later.

Installation Instructions:

• Download the attached zip file DAQmx871Patch.zip
• Unzip the file and run the "dsai.msi" installer
• If you are using a 64-bit windows operating system, you must also download and unzip DAQmx871Patch(64-bit).zip and run the "dsai64.msi" installer.
• After installation completes, reboot your system.
