Error -200152 or -200175 When Configuring or Accessing Hardware

Issue Details

I am receiving one of the following error codes when I am trying to configure my NI system:
 

  • Error -200175: Hardware is not responding. Ensure your hardware is powered on and all cables are properly connected.

  • Error -200152: Data read from the EEPROM on the device is invalid.

Solution

These errors can be caused by issues with the device's EEPROM (electrically erasable programmable read-only memory). They may be encountered in either Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) or while running code that includes a task with the device in question.
 
There are a few possible resolutions depending on what System you are using:

SCXI System
  1. Reset your SCXI Configuration.
    1. ​Delete your SCXI configuration from MAX.
    2. Power cycle your SCXI system.
    3. Reconfigure the system in MAX.
  2. Click Reset Device for the device in question in MAX.
  3. Try swapping the positions of the cards within the SCXI chassis.
PXI System
  1. Reset your PXI Configuration.
    1. ​Delete your PXI configuration from MAX.
    2. Power cycle your PXI system.
    3. Reconfigure the system in MAX.
  2. Click Reset Device for the device in question in MAX.
  3. Try swapping the positions of the cards within the PXI chassis.
cDAQ System
  1. Reset your cDAQ Configuration.
    1. Disconnect your cDAQ from the computer.
    2. Delete your cDAQ configuration from MAX.
    3. Power cycle your cDAQ system.
    4. Reconnect your cDAQ to the computer
  2. Click Reset Device for the device in question in MAX.
  3. Try swapping the positions of the cards within the cDAQ chassis.
PCI System
  1. Reset your PCI Configuration.
    1. ​Delete your PCI configuration from MAX.
    2. Power cycle your system.
    3. Reconfigure the system in MAX.
  2. Click Reset Device for the device in question in MAX.
  3. Try swapping the positions of the cards within the PCI slots.
  4. Try cleaning the PCI connector.
