IEPE Excitation Levels for DSA Devices

Hardware: Modular Instruments>>Dynamic Signal Acquisition and Analysis (DSA)>>PXI-4461, Modular Instruments>>Dynamic Signal Acquisition and Analysis (DSA)>>PXI-4462, Modular Instruments>>Dynamic Signal Acquisition and Analysis (DSA)>>PXI-4471, Modular Instruments>>Dynamic Signal Acquisition and Analysis (DSA)>>PXI-4472, Modular Instruments>>Dynamic Signal Acquisition and Analysis (DSA)>>PXI-4472B, Modular Instruments>>Dynamic Signal Acquisition and Analysis (DSA)>>PXI-4474, Modular Instruments>>Dynamic Signal Acquisition and Analysis (DSA)>>NI 4472 for IEEE 1394, Modular Instruments>>Dynamic Signal Acquisition and Analysis (DSA)>>PCI-4471, Modular Instruments>>Dynamic Signal Acquisition and Analysis (DSA)>>PCI-4472, Modular Instruments>>Dynamic Signal Acquisition and Analysis (DSA)>>PCI-4474, Modular Instruments>>Dynamic Signal Acquisition and Analysis (DSA)>>PCI-4461, Modular Instruments>>Dynamic Signal Acquisition and Analysis (DSA)>>PCI-4462

Problem:
What are the available IEPE excitation levels for National Instruments Dynamic Signal Analyzer (DSA) devices?

Solution:
Different DSA devices provide different values for excitation. In software these values can be set to a range of values but are eventually coerced to allowable values in hardware.

Here is a table of current excitation values for the NI-443x, NI-446x, NI-447x, NI-4496/4498 and NI-923x DSA devices:

Note: The PXI-4495 does not support IEPE excitation.

If a value is entered in the 'Other' category, an error will occur.

Please refer to each device's specifications link below for more detailed information on their IEPE excitation. Depending on the sensor's excitation requirements, this could dictate which product is best for the application.
