Problem: Is it possible to do single point acquisition (on-demand or hardware timed) with Dynamical Signal Analyzer (DSA) hardware? Solution: No, at the present time Dynamic Signal Analyzer (DSA) hardware does not support single point (on-demand) acquisition. DSA hardware also does not support hardware timed single point acquisition. In both cases it is because of hardware limitations, namely the use of a Delta-Sigma analog-digital converter. Delta-Sigma ADCs provide excellent noise reduction and high dynamic ranges by over-sampling and then averaging those values. For this reason single point acquisitions are not supported by any hardware that uses Delta-Sigma ADCs.
