How do I Determine the Sampling Rate for a SCXI 1520 Module. Hardware: SCXI>>Modules>>SCXI-1520
Problem: How do I determine the sampling rate for a SCXI 1520 module? Solution: SCXI 1520 is a simultaneous sampling device that uses track-and-hold technology. The maximum convert rate for simultaneous sample and hold (SSH) circuit in the SCXI 1520 is 10 us. Assuming that you are using all 8 channels on the SCXI 1520 and the DAQ device can sample at 800 kS/s, you can go upto 100 kS/s/channel. If the DAQ device cannot sample upto 800 kS/s, then the rate on 1520 is limited to (maximum DAQ sampling rate)/ (number of 1520 channels in use). If your application requires more than 8 channels, then the 1520 modules should be used in parallel mode instead of multiplexed mode. In the parallel mode, you will be able to assign a separate DAQ channel for every 1520 module, hence retaining the maximum scan rate whereas in multiplexed mode you will using the same DAQ channel for multiple 1520 modules, hence lowering the maximum scan rate.
