PXIe-8130 Not Detected in MAX after Rebooting from Windows into LabVIEW Real-Time Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Controllers>>PXIe-8130
Problem: When using a PXIe-8130 as a Dual-Boot controller (configured to boot into Microsoft Windows or LabVIEW Real-Time on the same controller) the ethernet controller may not work properly in LabVIEW Real-Time in certain situations. When rebooting the controller into LabVIEW Real-Time after previously booting into Microsoft Windows, you may not be able to find the PXIe-8130 in Measurement & Automation Explorer on a host machine. When viewing the LabVIEW Real-Time display on the PXIe-8130 it will appear to have booted into LabVIEW Real-Time correctly. However attempts to communicate with the PXIe-8130 over the ethernet port may fail. Solution: This issue is fixed by upgrading the BIOS to version 1.3 or later and also upgrading to LabVIEW 8.5.1. Please follow the related link below on how to flash the BIOS. If this upgrade is not possible the only work around for this issue is as follows: To establish communication with the PXIe-8130 running LabVIEW Real-Time after rebooting from Microsoft Windows you must first completely disconnect power from the system. After reconnecting power to the system the controller will boot into LabVIEW Real-Time and ethernet communication will be re-established. You will now be able to find the PXIe-8130 in Measurement & Automation Explorer on a host machine. Completely disconnecting power from the system requires unplugging the power connector from the chassis or removing the controller from the chassis momentarily. Pushing the power button on the chassis will not completely disconnect power to the controller and you still may be unable to communicate over ethernet with the PXIe-8130 running LabVIEW Real-Time. This issue only occurs after previously booting into Microsoft Windows and then booting into LabVIEW Real-Time without ever completely disconnecting power from the system. There are no problems with ethernet communication while rebooting into Microsoft Windows only or LabVIEW Real-Time only.
