The Operation Could Not Be Completed. Operation Failed With Error Code: 7409

Problem:
I am trying to install software on my NI PXI-8145 Real-Time Controller, but whenever I click on the Add/Remove Programs button, an error window pops up that says:

The operation could not be completed. Operation failed with error code: 7409

What is going on?

Solution:
There are a couple of things that could be wrong. Here is a list of things you should check.

• Make sure the target and the host are on the same subnet.
• If you are using more than one controller, make sure there are no IP address conflicts. Ensure that each controller has a unique IP address. You can use DHCP to assign addresses to the controllers.
• Reformat the Compact Flash card on the RT controller. You can do this by taking out the Compact Flash card and inserting it into a Compact Flash Card Reader. Reformat it to FAT mode.
