Why Can I Not Modify Tasks, Channels, or Scales in MAX After I Downgrade DAQmx From Version 8.3?Primary Software: Utility Software>>Measurement & Automation ExplorerPrimary Software Version: 1.0.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: When I downgrade DAQmx from version 8.3, I can no longer edit or delete my DAQmx Tasks, Virtual Channels, or Scales. I also notice the same behavior when I import a MAX ".nce" file that was created in a newer version of MAX than is installed on my system. Solution: Some DAQmx attributes may be corrupted when a newer MAX configuration is loaded into an older version of MAX. This corruption can occur during a driver downgrade or by importing a MAX configuration from a new version of MAX to an older one. Note: This corruption will only occur with versions of MAX prior to 4.1. When you downgrade to a pre-8.3 version of DAQmx, you should leave MAX 4.1 installed on the system. Likewise if you are importing an ".nce" file to your system and this file was created in a newer version of MAX, you should first install MAX 4.1(or later) on the system and then import the file. If your installation of MAX already has a DAQmx configuration that has been corrupted by one of the above circumstances, try the following. These steps will first attempt to remove the corruption and, if that does not work, then try to remove the DAQmx configuration altogether.
