LabVIEW 8.0 Cannot Find My CVS FPGA Target

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-RIO
Primary Software Version: 2.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: 2.0
Secondary Software: N/A
Hardware: Image Acquisition (IMAQ)>>Compact Vision System

Problem: I'm trying to target the FPGA on my Compact Vision System (CVS) using LabVIEW 8.0. When I try to add an existing FPGA target under the CVS in the Project Window, the FPGA isn't found! Why is this happening?

Solution: Some older versions of NI-RIO (which is used, in part, by NI-IMAQ I/O) have an outdated version of the Discover Devices function. This function is used to scan a target for available FPGA devices and report them back to LabVIEW. The outdated version wasn't able to detect the FPGA device on some CVSs.

A new version of the function that works with all CVSs is given below. To install it, place the nirio_Discover Devices VI in the following directory:
C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.0\Targets\NI\FPGA\RIO

Note: You will be prompted to overwrite the file. This is okay, since you're installing the new version over the old.
