Remove Devices from Calibration Executive Selection Menu

Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Controllers

Problem:
The Device Types menu is very long and contains many devices that I will not need to calibrate.  Is there a way to remove these devices from the drop down menu?

Solution:
You can remove the device procedure from the menu by removing the associated .ini files from the Calibration Executive Procedures folder.

Note: You should not delete these files.  If delete the device .ini file and you do find that you need to calibrate in the device in the future, you would need to repair Calibration Executive.  Instead, you should simply move the file to another folder so that if you need it in the future, you can move it back.

You can locate this folder at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Calibration Executive\procedures and it will appear as below:

Remove a Category of Devices
If you would like to remove an entire class of devices (e.g all 446x DMMs), you should move the folder for that category out of the procedures folder.  If a folder is removed, all the boards in that category will be removed from the procedure.

Example: To remove all M-Series boards go to C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Calibration Executive\procedures and remove the MIO DAQmx folder.

Remove a Specific Devices
If you want to remove only a particular board, go to the procedure folder, select the product category and remove the .ini file for the specific board.

Example: To remove the PCI-6014 board, go to the folder C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Calibration Executive\procedures\MIO DAQmx\Devices and remove the PCI-6014.ini file as show below.
