Problem: What can I do if Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) crashes?
Solution: National Instruments is continually working to minimize occurrences of crashes in MAX.
Please submit the following information to NI Technical Support to help us investigate the causes of crashes:
- When does MAX crash?
- Is it when MAX is launching?
- Is it when left or right-clicking on a particular item?
- What happens when MAX crashes?
- Is there an error message?
- Does MAX just disappear?
- What changed since MAX worked without crashing?
- Have you installed new or additional software?
- Have you uninstalled software?
- Have you added or removed any hardware?
- Are you using an operating system that is not currently officially supported?
- Are you using Windows XP Tablet Edition?
- Create a technical support report if MAX launches without crashing.
- In MAX, go to File->Create Report..., and select Technical support.
- Find crash related files.
- From the Start Menu, select Run... and enter "%TEMP%". In the explorer that comes up, look for NI_CRASH.DMP and NI_ERRORLOG.TXT with recent Date Modified properties.
