Why Are My Controller's Configuration Options Missing in Measurement & Automation Explorer?

Problem:
Why are my controller's configuration options such as "Obtain IP address from DHCP", "Reboot", "Lock", "Halt system if TCP/IP fails", missing in the dialog in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX)?



Solution:
This was a rarely seen issue in MAX versions 4.2.x.  This can be fixed by following the instructions below.

MAX 4.2.x Patch Instructions

1. Log in as Administrator or as a user with Administrator privileges.
2. Close all National Instruments applications.
3. Download the patch from:
• ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/max/4.2.x/maxupdate42x3035.exe or
• ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/max/4.2.x/maxupdate42x3035_silent.exe
4. Run the self-extracting executable file to apply the patch.
5. Reboot the machine to complete the application of the patch.
6. Launch MAX and verify that you can see your controller's configuration options.
