How Do I Create a Virtual TEDS Task with the DAQ Assistant?

Primary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>LabVIEW Base Package
Primary Software Version: 1.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQmx

Problem:
I created my own virtual TEDS for my sensor using LabVIEW. How do I import this information into the DAQ Assistant?

Solution:
After creating your virtual TEDS in LabVIEW, you first need to import it into Measurement & Automation Explorer. After this, you will be able to use your virtual TEDS within the DAQ Assistant.
  1. Right-click the device that your sensor is connected to and select Configure TEDS.
  2. Click the channel which your sensor is connected to and then select Import Virtual TEDS.
  3. In the pop-up window navigate to the location where you saved your virtual TEDS file.
  4. In LabVIEW, place a DAQ Assistant down on your block diagram.
  5. In the pop-up, select Acquire Signals»TEDS.
  6. Click the physical channel that has the TEDS configured and select Finish.
  7. The resulting pop-up will show your TEDS configuration, for example, the appropriate minimum and maximum values for your sensor.
