Why Do Some Measurement Studio DAQmx .NET Examples Not Build Correctly After Upgrading NI-DAQmx 7.0 to 7.1?

Primary Software: Measurement Studio>>.NET Support
Primary Software Version: 7.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQmx

Problem: I updated from NI-DAQmx 7.0 to NI-DAQmx 7.1 and now some of my .NET examples do not compile correctly. Why are the examples not building correctly? How can I get them to compile properly?

Solution: The problem sometimes appears under certain upgrade situations; when installation has completed the NationalInstruments.DAQmx.dll is missing from the MeasurementStudio70\DotNET\Assemblies\Current folder. The file is missing because of a breaking change in the installer between the NI-DAQ 7.0.0 and the NI-DAQ 7.1 release.

To get the examples to build correctly it is necessary to repair the installation of the MeasurementStudio-DAQmx component.
  1. Run the MStudioDAQmx.msi installer. The installer is available on the NI Device Drivers CD at components\mstudio\.
  2. Select Repair and go through the installation.
This should add the components that broke during the upgrade.
