Installing the IVI Compliance Package for multiple versions of LabWindows/CVI

Primary Software: LabWindows/CVI Development Systems>>Base Package
Primary Software Version: 7.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: Instrument Drivers/IVI>>IVI Compliance Package

Problem:
I have multiple versions of LabWindows/CVI on my computer (ie 7.1 and 8.0), but when I installed the IVI Compliance Package, support was only added for my latest version of the LabWindows/CVI software (ie 8.0). I need to use the IVI Compliance Package in multiple versions of LabWindows/CVI, not just the most recent version, so how can I accomplish this?

Solution:
The IVI Compliance packages currently only include support for the most recent version of LabWindows/CVI on your computer. Also, if you had the IVI Compliance Package installed with a version of LabWindows/CVI and then you upgrade to a more recent version of LabWindows/CVI and subsequently reinstall (or upgrade) the IVI Compliance Package, then the IVI Compliance Package support for your earlier version of LabWindows/CVI will be removed.

You can manually add support for the IVI Compliance Package to multiple versions of LabWindows/CVI software, however. Consider the two following options:

  1. To add IVI Compliance Package support to a single project developed in an earlier version of LabWindows/CVI, you can copy the ivi.lib folder from Program Files/IVI/Lib to your LabWindows/CVI project.
  2. To add IVI Compliance Package support to an earlier version of LabWindows/CVI, you can copy the ivi.lfp, ivi.lib and ivi.sub files from the most recent Program Files/National Instruments/CVIxx/Bin directory (where xx is the version of LabWindows/CVI installed) to the CVIxx/Bin directory of the earlier version of LabWindows/CVI for which you would like to include IVI support.
