Can I Connect a "Smart Feedback Device" (SFD) to My NI Motion Controller?Hardware: Motion Control>>Controllers>>PCI-7342
Problem: I have a motor that has a smart feedback device and I would like to connect it to my NI motion controller. Will this work? Solution: The Smart Feedback Device cannot connect directly to the NI motion controller. In most cases the smart feedback device can be connected to a third party drive which accepts this input and the drive will be able to convert this signal into an encoder signal that the NI motion controller can use. Kollmorgen has an Encoder Equivelent Output which will output the signal in the form of a quadrature encoder.
