Rise Time of the 5401

Hardware: Signal Sources (AWG/FG/AO)>>Arbitrary Waveform and Function Generators

Problem: If I want to output a ramp signal on the 5401, how long would it take for the output to go from the negative rail to the positive rail?

Solution: The following data was recorded in a test that measured the rise time of the ramp function at different frequencies. This test utilized the NI-5112 High Speed Digitizer to record the data.

10 Hz: 18 ns rise time at 9.4 Vp-p
100 Hz: 18 ns rise time at 9.4 Vp-p
1 KHz: 18 ns rise time at 9.4 Vp-p
10 KHz: 9 ns rise time at 8.8 Vp-p
100 KHz: 8 ns rise time at 8.8 Vp-p
1 MHz: 9 ns rise time at 8.5 Vp-p
