How to Map Triggers Using VXI-MXI-2 and NI-VXI 3.0, 3.1, or 3.2

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-VXI/VISA
Primary Software Version: 1.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A
Hardware: VXI/VME/MXI>>MXI Interfaces>>PCI-MXI-2

Problem: I have noticed that TTL triggers map differently in NI-VXI 3.x than NI-VXI 2.x when using VXI-MXI-2 extenders. How do I map triggers using VXI-MXI-2 and NI-VXI 3.x?

Solution: In NI-VXI 3.x when you enable triggers or interrupts, only the local controller is enabled. If you need to enable a remote controller for triggers, use the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) frame resource to map the trigger back to the local controller.
  1. Open MAX and choose the properties of the VXI-MXI-2 extender in the frame that you wish to map the signal from.

  2. Select the "Signal Mappings" tab group.

  3. Select "TTL Triggers" from the signal group menu and change the mapping of the signal name that you wish to use to "Out of the Frame".
