Programmatically Setting the NI 9205 Voltage Range

Primary Software: LabVIEW Modules>>FPGA Module
Primary Software Version: 8.5.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A
Hardware: CompactRIO>>Analog Input Modules>>NI 9205

Problem:
I want to be able to programmatically set the voltage range on each of my analog inputs on the NI 9205 independently. How do I set these ranges?

Solution:
If you want to be able to dynamically set the voltage ranges of each of your analog inputs on the NI 9205, while the FPGA is running, you need to use an FPGA I/O Method Node. Follow these steps to accomplish this:
  1. Place an FPGA I/O Method Node on your FPGA VI block diagram
  2. Right-click on the node and click on Select Item » [ Your 9205 Module Name ]

Note: You must select the entire module not the specific analog inputs

  3. Click on the method text of the node and select Set Voltage Range

  4. In order to identify the different voltage ranges supported for the NI 9205, right-click on the Voltage Range input of the method node and create a constant>
