Problem:
I would like to control my TPC-2006 or TPC-2012 Industrial Touch Panel from my host computer. How can I do this?

Solution:
The Windows CE operating system on the TPC-2006 and TPC-2012 comes with several built-in utilities. One of these tools is called Remote Display Application. If your TPC-2006 or TPC-2012 is connected to the host computer through the network, you can use this utility to display the device screen on the host and control the TPC-2006 or TPC-2012 remotely through this interface. The following steps describe this process:

  1. Download the attached file cerhost.exe.

  2. Run this program on the host computer.

  3. On the TPC-2006 or TPC-2012, go to Start » Programs » Utilities » Remote Display Application.

  4. In the dialog that pops up, drag the window up a bit and click on OK.

  5. Click on Connect.

  6. Type in either the name of the host computer or its IP address and click on OK. At this point, the device screen should show up on the host computer.
The TPC-2006 or TPC-2012 can now be controlled with the mouse and keyboard on the host computer, as well as its own touch screen. Using the Zoom menu on the host display window, you can increase the size of the screen to make it easier to work with.
