Why Does My SPEEDY-33 Microphone not Work?

Primary Software: LabVIEW Modules>>Embedded Development Module
Primary Software Version: 1.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>LabVIEW Professional Development System

Problem:
The SPEEDY-33 has onboard microphones for audio applications.  When I speak into the microphone, I do not detect any sound. Why?

Solution:
The SPEEDY-33 has jumpers that allow you to select gains between the line level analog input and the onboard microphones.  The jumpers that control the gain selection are JP1 and JP2.  By selecting the microphone level we increase the gain from the microphone source.  Below are the jumper positions that correspond to the two selections.

After both J1 and J2 are in position 3 you can test to see if the onboard microphones are working with a simple loopback VI.  Below is a simple example of how to do that.

For more information about the onboard microphone please refer to the SPEEDY-33 User Manual.
