Is My FieldPoint Controller Poll-Driven or Event-Driven?

Hardware: FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-1300, FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-2015, FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-1600, FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-1000, FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-1001, FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-2000, FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-1601, FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-1100, FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-2010

Problem:
Is my FieldPoint controller poll-driven or event-driven and what does this mean?

Solution:
With polled I/O, the PC client must continually request data from the I/O device, regardless of whether the data has changed. In event-driven I/O, data is sent to the PC only when it changes. Polled I/O uses significant amounts of network bandwidth and processor time compared to event-driven I/O. For a more detailed description, see the link below.

Poll-Driven Controllers
- FP-1000
- FP-1001
- (c)FP-20xx
- (c)FP-21XX
- FP-1300 - can operate as both

Event Driven Controllers
- FP-1600
- FP-1601
- FP-20xx - working as an FP-1600
- FP-1300 - can operate as both
