Why Is My Instrument Giving the Exact Same Data Every Time I Run My Task in Measure?

Problem: I'm using Measure to acquire data from my Serial or General Purpose Interface Bus (GPIB) Instrument. Every time I run my "Capture" task I receive exactly the same data every time, even though I know the data should be different. What am I doing wrong?

Solution: Most likely the GPIB or Serial buffer is staying full of the first run's data and isn't clearing out. You need to check the "Clear Instrument" box for your GPIB task (or the "Clear input buffer before running" box for Serial) to make sure that the buffer is empty and ready to be filled with new values at every run.
